Ryan P. Casey, the “improbably tall tap fave” praised by The Boston Globe for his “rocketing rhythms and stylish moves,” trained under Thelma Goldberg and Kelly Kaleta with the Legacy Dance Company of The Dance Inn in Lexington, MA. He served as dance captain of Aaron Tolson’s New England Tap Ensemble, is a founding member of Michelle Dorrance’s company, Dorrance Dance and has performed with Billy Siegenfeld’s Jump Rhythm Jazz Project. You may have seen him on So You Think You Can Dance or read one of his articles forDance Studio Life, Dance Spirit or Dance Teacher. He has worked with studios, colleges and youth companies across North America, and has presented original work at venues including the Inside/Out series at Jacob’s Pillow, Massachusetts Dance Festival and David Parker’s “Soaking WET” series. Ryan currently teaches at Boston University as well as The Dance Inn, Impulse Dance Center, and New England School of Dance. The winner of a 2014 choreography grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, he is a proud alumnus of NYU, The School at Jacob’s Pillow and the National YoungArts Foundation. He was featured in the December 2013 issue of Dance Studio Life and will appear in the January 2015 issue of Dance Magazine.
